One of the simplest document editors – Abiword – which is free/opensource too has the facility of collaborative editing a document on a LAN environment using TCP/IP. One can share a document for collaborative editing from the “Collaborate” menu. the shared document can be accessed by any user who is on the LAN and using Abiword. I think OpenOffice in on the way to integrating collaborative editing in the suite.

It will be released along with the new version of the Collaber which is scheduled to release on this month end.

Yes, we are working on Web version. Release date is not finalized yet. But expecting to put Beta version live from March 2nd week. We will publish some early screenshots of it later today.

Let us know your views on desktop version.

If you are experiencing an intermittant or “buggy” network connection, Collaber can be “listening” and scoop up all changes when they are accesible?

Great progress ! Perhaps one can let part of the computer “live in Collaber”, and multi-task back and forth from other applications.

So the download page says End of March? This post says 9th of May, and the Front Page of the Website says 31st of May, it is now 2nd June and still no 1.1.

Please at least commit to one date, and update us where youare at.

Collaber is also making the same mistakes made by groove……..
